The Icon of Our Lady of Ostra Brama<\/b> is one of the most important and revered Marian images in Central and Eastern Europe. The gilded frame and applied enamel<\/b> emphasize the luminosity of the divinity and protection of the Mother of God<\/b>, while the velvet background<\/b> reinforces the sacred character of the object. The portable format allowed for Mary's presence in everyday life, both domestic and traveling. <\/span><\/p>
