The Gallo-Roman style refers to the culture and art developing in areas of Gaul under Roman rule, where Celtic arts and crafts assimilated features of Roman realism, but often while retaining elements of traditional stylization. The twilight of the Gallo-Roman style in art occurred in the third century, although it did not occur everywhere simultaneously. <\/span><\/p>

Almond-shaped eyes, \"Gioconda's smile\" and a specific manner of hairdressing are characteristics also found on other head sculptures made in the Gallo-Roman style.<\/span><\/p>
