Her distinctive facial features, including the shape of her face, eyes, and eyebrows, narrow lips, and, most notably, a prominent, slightly aquiline nose, confirm her as J\u00f3zefina Amalia Potocka n\u00e9e Mniszech (born August 29, 1752, in Krakow, died October 1798, in St. Petersburg). She was an exceptionally colorful figure of her era, engaging in amateur painting and collecting artworks. In 1774, she married Stanis\u0142aw Szcz\u0119sny Potocki. They had eleven children, yet only three are attributed to Stanis\u0142aw Szcz\u0119sny's paternity, as J\u00f3zefina Amalia had numerous lovers. Her likeness is known through a relatively large number of portraits and a sculpture located in the Royal \u0141azienki Park in Warsaw.     <\/span><\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"wd-negative-gap elementor-element elementor-element-b7c6336 e-grid e-con-boxed e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"b7c6336\" data-element_type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-56c634c elementor-widget elementor-widget-wd_text_block\" data-id=\"56c634c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"wd_text_block.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"wd-text-block reset-last-child text-left\">\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<h2><b>Biography<\/b><\/h2><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Gustav Friedrich Amalius Taubert (1755 Berlin - 1839 Berlin)<\/span><\/p><ul><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Son and pupil of miniaturist Johann Friedrich Taubert.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He studied at the Academy in Berlin under the portrait painter P. J. Bardou.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He painted oil portraits and pastels, historical compositions, and genre scenes; he also created caricatures.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">He achieved his greatest recognition as a creator of miniatures painted on ivory, enamel, and porcelain.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">In 1782, he resided in Dresden, and subsequently spent two years in Vienna. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 1785 to 1797, he worked in Gda\u0144sk and Warsaw, where he portrayed numerous dignitaries, including Stanis\u0142aw August. <\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">From 1801 to 1825, he was permanently associated with the porcelain manufactory in Berlin.<\/span><\/li><li style=\"font-weight: 400;\" aria-level=\"1\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Several of his portraits are held in Polish museums; one such miniature, similar to the present work\u2014a profile portrait of a woman\u2014is in the collection of the National Museum in Warsaw (inventory no.
