Sculpture of a god’s head (Zeus or Hercules), marble, Mediterranean basin, Hellenistic period

Monumental sculpture depicting the head of a bearded god, probably Zeus. The hair and beard form wavy, loose curls; a long mustache descends on the sides and frames the closed mouth. The face has a serious, focused expression, with a slightly flattened nose and furrowed brows. The eyes are carefully modeled, with a distinct upper eyelid, without marked pupils. The sculpture is made of white marble. The piece dates from the Hellenistic period in Greece, circa 300–200 BC.

Full-plastic head sculpture made of white marble, facial features treated quite schematically except for the characteristic almond-shaped eyes and "Gioconda's smile." The nose is flat, the hair reaching the neck, wavy around the line of the face, at the back the hairstyle treated schematically. The shape of the neck from underneath allows us to conclude that the head was originally part of a larger composition. The sculpture is placed on a custom-made, two-stage pedestal of black marble.

The Gothic full-figure sculpture depicting a head, most likely an angel, was created in the circle of Parisian sculpture around 1300. The face with a calm expression and idealized features, surrounded by curls supported by a band, fits the type of depictions characteristic of French sculpture of the time of Philippe the Beautiful (1285-1314). The style, which spread in the 14th century, is sometimes referred to as "court style." Sculpture with traces of polychromy, damage and traces of surface erosion. Made of sandstone, it was originally most likely part of a full-figure representation. It most likely had a sacred function.

Irish (Celtic) cross, stone sculpture, Ireland, 19th century.

The sculpture in the form of an Irish cross, 24 cm high, made of a single piece of gray stone (slate). Like the medieval prototypes, it consists of a base (pedestal) with chamfered sides, a high shaft topped by a crossbar merged with a circle (nimbus). In the upper section, partially enclosed within the ring, is a semi-relief depiction of the Crucified Christ. The shaft below is decorated with incised “X” marks, simple geometric ornamentation, and the inscription INCX. The sides of the shaft feature carved rosettes and zigzag motifs. Additionally, the right side bears the inscription IXC, while the left side contains an unclear word, most likely in the Irish (Gaelic) language. On the reverse of the shaft appears another “X” mark, with a triangular shield motif below. The ends of the cross arms are decorated with four-pointed rosettes.

Small ancient ceramic vessel of the type lekanis, dated to 5th century p. Ch. , probably originating in Beotia in central Greece. A vessel with a low, flattened body, with two thin, rising handles and a matching lid ending in a flat button. Made of fine-grained clay with a orange-red shadecovered with dark firnis and decorated with a band of vertical zigzags in brown-black. On the underside is visible an undersized ring foot With concentric circles and lathe marks. Preserved museum numbering applied in ink. The surface of the dish shows typical traces of reduction firing, local discoloration, loss of phirnis and mineral deposits, but the whole is preserved in complete form with the original lid. Lekanis was used in ancient Greece for storing cosmetics, fragrances, jewelry and small ornaments. Vessels of this type accompanied women in daily life, and were also placed in graves as a items of personal use with symbolic significance.

This Roman culinary and banqueting vessel represents the form of a patella (deep saucepan), classified in archaeological typology as Eggers type 137. The object dates from the early Roman Empire, specifically the second half of the 1st century or the beginning of the 2nd century AD (a timeframe of approximately 50–120 AD), corresponding to the chronological horizon from Emperor Nero's reign to the Flavian dynasty and Emperor Trajan. The saucepan was cast from tinned bronze in a provincial Roman workshop, located in Gaul or Germania Inferior, modeled after products from Campanian manufacturers in the Capua region. The tin coating on the inner walls of the vessel was intended to protect prepared food from direct contact with copper and the formation of toxic compounds. The vessel's net weight is 1060 grams. The object consists of a hemispherical bowl, 8.2 centimeters in height and 18 centimeters in rim diameter, connected to a flat handle with a trapezoidal finial, resulting in a total length of 30.2 centimeters.

The creature is shown in a watchful position, sitting on an ornate base with its mouth open and teeth bared. Its body is covered with linear motifs resembling tattoos, its breast is adorned with a wide necklace and its front paws with bracelets. The sculpture was most likely associated with a protective function, both in temple and domestic spaces.
