Baroque votive plaque with an image of a nobleman, Poland, 17th-18th centuries.

A votive plaque made in Poland in the 17th-18th centuries, depicting a bust of a man in a kontusz outfit, with a distinctive mustache and a grotesque look characteristic of folk art. Rectangular form with decoratively cut, fluted edge. Relief convex on the front, concave on the back, made by repoussé technique. A pendant was soldered to the upper edge secondarily to allow vertical display.
